The hitchlock on my van is a Winterhof, similar to the Alco, I have not had any problems. The only thing is, that I always use the caravan motomover, to couple up, as there is no protector plate, prevening you hitting the bumper with the hitchlock.

I have just done 6500 miles, in the Kodiaq, and I am now getting just under 30 mpg. That is towing, pretty loaded down, 3 people and doing between 55-60 miles an hour, trying to us the cruise control as much as possible. So thats not to bad.

I am off to Scotland next Monday, but a slight detour to Morecambe, most of the journey will be on the motorway [ M6 ] and the A74, I think it is to Castle Douglas, so interesting to see what mpg I obtain. If I get 30 + I will be happy, perhaps because it is the auto its a bit heavy on fuel. I hope ...

I purchased the Kodiaq primarily for towing our caravan, it is a light weight compared to some 1350, kilo, and why I chose a automatic. The problem I have had, the boot unhooking but not opening, or only opening half way. On the 26th June it is going in for its first service [12 months ] but it will have done less that 6,000 miles, so I will mention it?
