I find the ride ok obviously better with my standard 18” on . The suspension does its job round town . I have noticed with both wheels on at high speed the sharp little motorway bumps seem pretty harsh almost like the suspension is pretty much solid at speed but I’d rather that than a soft unstable ...

If you go too wide then they will go out of shape and not make the correct footprint almost like a balloon shape , you will probably end up with un-even tyre wear in the centre

Well I’ve rarely seen over 40 apart from when I really try . Maybe in a flatter run it might be better . I used to average around 50mpg on the same trip in my old car and even better if I was taking it super easy

You mean the polished b pillars ? If so then yes they scratch but also polish back up ok I don’t think it’s plastic or do you mean the window surround and seals

I picked the wrong engine for my style of driving . I find the only way I can get decent mpg on long trips is to be 60-70 and hope I don’t need to overtake . I wasn’t budgeting on doing so many long trips hence why I got the 1.4 as it’s better for my daily commute than my last tdi was as never reall...

I’m confused why you want wider tyres than the rim or are you trying to get more comfort and actually trying to get a higher profile not width

Never had a problem always stayed where I left it , usually in individual. I don’t have profiles set that I know of. Is it possible someone set up a profile for eco or something?

I can confirm a quick pull at 50 temp applies harshly it but only momentarily, it beeps then carry’s on . I’m guessing the holding on will apply the fronts as well
