Re: Kids threw rocks at my Kodiaq and dented bonnet

Agree with above, that seems excessive to me. Worth widening your search.

Re: Paint work

For lack of a better local option, I went with the Williams ceramic protection (discounted).
I'm glad I got the paint protection, but wish I'd travelled a bit further to get a better product from a professional valeter.
If you're getting a dark coloured car then it's worth it IMO

My understanding was that the full factory extended warranty was only available if you took it out before the car was registered.
That's exactly what my dealer told me

Re: ACC behavior when car in front changes lanes

That is precisely why I do not want ACC on my car! You come to rely on it, until it plays up, and who knows what then! It's meant as an aid, not to replace the driver. As with many driving aids, you have to be prepared to intervene if the tech doesn't do its job. The vast majority of my journey was...

Was the car ahead stationary? ACC doesn't work for stationary objects but responds to cars slowing down. All cars are metals, so I don't think the ACC sensor gets affected by it
Nope. We were doing 50-ish mph and the car in front slowed with engine braking.

Re: ACC behavior when car in front changes lanes

Today I noticed an issue with my ACC. I was driving in a section of roadworks on the motorway with heavy metal barriers to my right (RHD car) and it didn't seem to detect the car in front - almost rammed into it but I braked. My point being, I wonder if metal barriers interfere with ACC radar or som...

Re: ACC behavior when car in front changes lanes

Yep, as above. If the car in the 'faster' lane is holding the same speed as you, the Kodiaq won't advance as it's perceived to be undertaking.

If that's not the case, there may be a fault as it should close up to the car in front.

Re: Black magic problems

I've always had this problem with black cars which is why I opted for paint protection this time. No swirl marks after 16 months ownership using automatic car washes. It only takes 1 dodgy car wash! :( Worth speaking to a professional valet to get it back to its original sheen and add some paint pro...

I used to use it quite a bit and it’s a nice thing to have but I did think it was worth the money. All I can say now is that I don’t miss it.
Same for me.
Even at a reduced price, not worth it to me and rarely missed either.
