Drive mode selection and where displayed.

According to the manual the currently selected driving mode is displayed in the infotainment system in the status bar next to the car symbol i.e. top left of screen. Also it states that on switching the ignition off and then back on the drive reverts back to normal.
I have noticed that on mine when starting the top left status remains at Sport even though it has reverted back to Normal drive as ( the gear indicator has reverted to D1, D2 etc as opposed to S1, S2 etc. When I then press the Mode button, the Sport Mode button is already highlighted. So it seems that rather than telling you in top left of screen what mode your actually in , it is telling you which mode is highlighted ready for selection. Anybody else notice this anomaly or do I have a glitch in my system ?

You're mixing up two things I think.

The Drive Mode (Eco, Normal, Sport, Custom etc) encompasses several settings including the gear box mode (E, D, S) but also air con, steering response etc.

The two are not the same thing.

The 'bug' is that even though the Drive Mode remains as last selected, the gear box mode returns to 'N' everytime you restart the car.

Question seems to be, is that by design, or _is_ it a bug?

I agree this appears to be what's happening, but if by design makes no sense at all.

Hi new to the this forum. Yes we noticed the same thing. If I understand the replies the gearbox always reverts to Normal mode even though the dashboard is saying something different (even between the central screen and the notification panel in the instrument cluster!). My comapny car is a Superb L&K and that doesn't have the issue so it must be software..hence fixable.

Does someone from Skoda normally reply to these reports? It's not like this is a new feature for the range.
